Installation of doors custom made wardrobe — This is a relatively simple task for those who are confident with a tape measure, saw and screwdriver. Sliding doors are usually supplied to the buyer as a complete set, including tracks, rollers and fasteners, so you just need to install the top and bottom track, and then place the doors in the desired position.

  1. The first step is to carefully measure the space, especially if you plan to order a custom-made wardrobe in Kyiv. It is best to invite a designer who will professionally take measurements.

Measure the cabinet opening space at three points: top, middle and bottom. Calculate the average width and use it.

Measure the height of the future sliding wardrobe from the floor to the ceiling at several points with an interval of 1 meter. Use the smallest of the obtained height values. When planning the use of decorative panels and frames on the floor, walls or ceiling, take into account their expected dimensions.

How to install doors on a sliding wardrobe?

However, to achieve the ideal result, it is recommended to contact an experienced designer for custom-made furniture in Kyiv. Mistakes made by inexperienced designers and constructors can result in significant expenses for the customer.

  1. Once the sliding wardrobe doors are delivered, they will be equipped with a chassis, including upper and lower guides. The upper track is usually attached to the ceiling first.

The standard depth of a wardrobe is 640mm from the back wall to the front top track. However, you can choose any depth that suits your needs. Measure the depth of the wardrobe and make marks. Then determine the width of the opening along the ceiling and transfer this measurement to the track, then cut it to the required length.

Drill holes approximately 10mm from each end and then approximately every 50-60mm. The holes are 4mm in diameter and should then be enlarged with a larger drill to hide the screw head. Secure the guides to the ceiling by screwing in the screws.

  1. Prepare the bottom track using the same measuring, cutting and drilling procedure, but do not fix the track to the base. Fixing the bottom track is done after the doors are installed.
  2. Door installation

Before installing the door, attach the upper and lower rollers to it. When moving the door to the cabinet, avoid placing it on an angle to avoid deformation of the profile. Carefully install one of the doors in the upper and lower guides.

Use a spirit level to adjust the door to a perfectly vertical position.

First insert the top part of the door into the guides, then the bottom part.

Adjust the position of the bottom guide together with the door and secure it to the base.

  1. Before adjusting the doors, it is necessary to level the cabinet using adjustable legs, if provided. Usually, support No. 2 is used for this purpose, which is adjusted using a hex key through a special hole inside. Usually, these holes are located where the bottom guide is planned to be installed.

Self-installation of sliding wardrobe doors

Adjust the doors using the adjustment screw at the top of each lower roller. Some systems use a Phillips screwdriver, while others use a hex key. Once adjusted correctly, the door should fit tightly and without gaps against both the front and back surfaces of the wardrobe, both when open and when closed. There should be no rubbing or creaking when the doors move.

Protective film on the profile

  1. Usually the door guides are protected with a film that prevents

scratches during delivery and installation. This film should be removed after the doors are fully installed. The aluminum profile on the sliding wardrobe door is also covered with a protective film, which is recommended to be removed after the door is installed. This is necessary because fingerprints may remain on the profile during installation, which can make it difficult to install the seals.
